Valentine's Day

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day.... Mine was very strange for me. This is the first time in 31 years that I have not been working my buns off to fill hundreds of orders for men who wanted to tell their sweethearts how much they love them. It's been over a year now since the fire in the building next door. I never did get the flower shop back up and running again but last year on Valentines day I got feeling bad for my customers of many years so I ordered in roses so I could fill some orders. This year however I have a full service scrapbook store and so I did not offer or bring in any flowers.

It was a very sad day for me, having to send good customers away. I learned a big lesson. Life isn't about how much money you make in your profession, what ever it is, but how much you enjoy it. To me, the past 30 years of "smelling the roses every day" was about the service to others and the joy others have when they recieved my flowers. I will probably always miss those very busy holidays, but I will look forward and enjoy what ever is happening in my live on Valentine's Day and I will hold close to my heart the memories I have.

If any of my family or friends read this, just want you to know how much I love each of you.

There will also be surprise sales throughout the store for one day only!

This will be an all day of open scrapbooking - make n' takes and plenty

of space to work on your own pages.

Lunch will be on your own. Please bring your own snacks and drinks, and your own tools, adhesive, etc. to work on your pages.

We will have a digital scrapbooking workshop and you can experience both the Memory Mixer or the LifeTimez programs . Sample albums will be on hand.

We will have a new Cricut Machine there for you to play with and
we will have a project for you to complete using it.

Try the Crop A Dial and use it in our FREE Make n’ Take gallon tin can Class.

Use the new Purple Cows hot laminator on a project and see what a great tool it is.

We also have a cool Purple Cows cutting systems for you to use as well as all our regular classroom tools which are FREE for this event.

It is important that you to pre register, We need a count for kits.

We only have room to host about 20 so it is very IMPORTANT
that you register today to hold a spot for you.
(Everyone is welcome to come and shop in the store on Saturday, but only those pre-registered and who have paid the fee will get all the goodies)!

It is always good to get away!

I took a couple of days off this weekend to celebrate my husband birthday. I had forgotten how good it is to get away for a few days. We attended a concert in Wendover, just a small town out across the salt flats of Utah. Mel Tellis and his daughter Pam were the entertainers and they really did a good job. This little town has just built a new concert hall, probably something some might say would never fly out there, but it will.

I could not help but think that we all make our own kind of music. For the young, good music is loud and wild. for us older folks, good sound, well dressed entertainers and old songs that we remember over the years is good. We all can make the best of life and get out of it just what we put into it.

Stretching myself to build an online store!

Oh my gosh have I been stretching myself to get my new Happiness Is..... online store up and running. If you know me at all, you know I love a challenge when it comes to anything to do with the computer, but this time I just about bit off more than I could chew!

A week or so ago I was having a talk with my friend Gary who owns Purple Cows. (Ok so you are right, I was pulled in by Purple Cows, because you know that anything purple in the world of scrapbooking must surely have been made just for me, since I love purple so much!) Gary was telling me how billions of dollars in business took place in 2006 just in the people purchasing Scrapbooking supplies online. He encouraged me to start my own online store to help boost my sales. His encouragement and some good suggestions helped me to get it going.

After some research, I decided to go with a Yahoo store since I already have them hosting my web site www.HappinessIsScrapbooking.com Seems Ebay has made some major changes as far as online stores go and may are disgruntled with Ebay right now. I learned that Yahoo offers 24/7 tech support so I just knew with their help I could do it. Thanks to some great help from the Yahoo tech's, I am doing ok.

At this time, my store is small but I hope to grow it in the future. Notice that I sell baby blessing dress and gifts, I am going to clear out the remainder of my floral and wedding supplies, and my husband invented a heater for Polaris Rangers. My Online Store is Open/Winter Day of Scrapbooking Event 2-17-2007

Now that I have a small portion of the items I want to sell posted to our new online store, and I have officially opened the store, http://store.happinessisscrapbooking.com/ Its time that I get putting the class and make n' take kits together for our Winter Day of Scrapbooking on Saturday, February 17th, 11:00 to 5:00.
It is very important that you pre-register for this special event. We need to know how many are coming so we can get your kits ready. Don't wait to long as we are limited as to the number we can take.

We will have tables set up at our store where you can just work on your own pages if you wish. Lunch is own your own but you are welcome to order something to bring in. Bring your own drinks and snacks and of course your scrapbooking supplies. (You are welcome to use any of our tools that are available for use).

Well I have tried it all now....... I just completed the first stages of an online store. Seems like i love most anything done on the computer but building a store was just about as far a stretch for me as I can handle. I started about two weeks and about half way along I thought I just don't have the knowledge to do this and then I decided that I was to far along to back out.

My Happiness Is......store is nothing fancy, but I hope that some of you, my friends and good customers, will enjoy purchasing from us there. If you live near our store in Preston just place your order and we will get it ready for you to pick up so you can save postage.
